NSPCC Visit to our schools

The NSPCC visited the school to hold an assembly on how to keep ourselves safe. The children were introduced to “Buddy” the mascot and they learned about the "sack of worries" and what they can do if they are worried. The children found out about ChildLine and how it could help them if they ever need anyone to talk to. Year 5 and 6 then had a separate workshop where they learned about the issues raised in assembly in more depth.

Children learnt a catchy way how to remember the ChildLine telephone number which is 0800 11 11.

If parents ever need info on apps, games or social networks they can visit the NSPCC site Net Aware and it will help you stay up to date in today’s digital world.  We encourage children to share, but sometimes sharing online can be dangerous – the Share Aware site will help you find the right way to talk to children about online safety. We certainly hope this helps!

If parents need anything else please check out www.o2.co.uk/nspcc or contact the free O2 NSPCC Online Safety Helpline on 0808 800 5002 and they will be happy to help. Their opening hours are Monday to Friday 9am – 7pm, 10am – 6pm on weekends, and 10am – 4pm on Bank Holidays.
