Music is for enjoyment. It can give immense pleasure to the performer and listener alike and is part of the wide field of human experience. It is in this context that music in education can be seen as a contribution to our cultural heritage and also as playing an important role in your child's whole development. Children have the opportunity to extend their involvement in music and drama by listening to visiting musicians and taking part in productions.
It is our aim in school to extend children's musical range and activities by teaching skills to develop the full musical and creative potential of all children, whatever their ability.
Music lessons are given on a class basis throughout the school including notation, pitch, rhythm and simple composition. The final aim is to develop the appreciation and discernment of good music whatever its origin.
