All pupils take part in this important area of the curriculum and the school encourages all children to be active during playtimes. Pupils enjoy using the bikes, adventure playground and small games equipment during these times.
A variety of PE and Games is offered to children throughout the school. We use the local hall for gymnastics and dance. Our large playground and field are used for outdoor games which include netball, basketball, football and touch rugby. Each class has the opportunity to have formal swimming instruction with a qualified coach at a nearby swimming pool. Additional trained sports coaches are employed for curriculum teaching and after school clubs.
Key Stage 2 children participate in a variety of inter‑school competitions and friendly matches. All children are expected to take part in these activities unless they need to be excluded for specific medical reasons. In 2008 our school fully met the ‘Sports Active Mark’ award.
