Educational Visits

At Charsfield and Dennington CEVCP Schools we work hard to organise exciting and educationally stimulating Educational Visits and arrange for visitors to enrich our curriculum.

Below is a taste of what we have done recently. For more information, check out the videos on the Home and Class Two pages!

Hilltop- Outdoor Adventure Week

Every other year, Year 5 and 6 children from both schools go to Hilltop in Norfolk. Here, they spend five days (with Two members of School Staff) away from home, getting to explore many new experiences such as abseiling, orieteering, assault courses, climbing, archery and much, much more. We go early in the school year (middle of September) because it is an amazing opportunity for the children to grow as a team and gain a new found sense of self-confidence which Teachers and Staff see actively translate to classroom performance.

You can see exactly what the previous year 6s got upto in the Hilltop video.

Kentwell Hall

All the children from Key Stage 2 (years 3-6) at Charsfield and Dennington Schools visited Kentwall Hall together. We learned all about what life in a stately home would be like during the Turdor period from preparing and cooking Tudor recipes to school life and how to children would be trained to used weapons. The children were able to soak up a lot of knowledge which was then carried through into our topic-focused curriculum work.

London Science Museum

To celebrate National Science Week, the WHOLE of Dennington and Charsfield Schools went on a joint trip to the London Science Museum in March 2013. For many children, this was a very big step into being independent and far from home but they all stuc together and got engrossed in everything around them. Needless to say, everyone was very tired after such an adventurous day, but what an experience!
